The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards nominees have been announced, and Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow, and Lil Nas X are leading the pack with seven nominations each.

For their joint project "INDUSTRY BABY," Harlow and Lil Nas X received numerous nominations, including those for video of the year, best collaboration, best directing, best art design, best visual effects, and best choreography.

Among the nominees for artist of the year are Harlow and Lil Nas X.

For the first time since 2018, Lamar is up for best hip-hop for "N95," best video for "The Heart Part 5", best visual effects,

Harry Styles and Doja Cat are closely behind with 6 each.

After receiving her 69th nomination for "MADAME X," Madonna, who currently holds the record for most MTV awards with 20 wins, is the only artist to have received a nomination for each of the VMAs.

The 2022 ceremony will be broadcast live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Sunday, August 28th at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

The VMAs will be televised simultaneously on The CW Network, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand, and VH1 for the third year in a row.

The 22 gender-neutral categories, which include the new ones for best long-form video and best metaverse performance, are all open for voting by fans.
