Chris Evans may have set down Captain America’s shield, but he now wears a new honorific: he is the Sexiest Man Alive, according to People Magazine.
On Monday night, both the People website and Stephen Colbert’s late-night program declared the winner. Evans succeeds Paul Rudd, another Avenger, who served as Captain America for almost ten years in Marvel’s epic superhero movies.
He told the magazine for the cover story, which hits newsstands on Friday, “My mum will be really delighted.” She’s proud of everything I do, but she can really be proud of this.
He is also aware that his close buddies will probably make fun of him. He quipped in an interview that “really this will just be a point of bullying.” “Harassment is ready to happen.”
Co-stars and recent Sexiest Man Alive winners like Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, and Chris Hemsworth are among those who might heckle him. (Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, was the first Avenger to win this year’s People Award; Mel Gibson received it in 1985.)
David Beckham, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, and others have all received honors in the past.
Evans, 41, was interviewed by reporters at a farmhouse in Georgia where he discussed striking a better work-life balance. Right now, he remarked, “feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas is the most gratifying component of my profession.”

Evans played the superhero Johnny Storm in two “Fantastic Four” movies that were released in 2005 and 2007. His first film appearance was in the 2000’s “The New Comers.” However, he became incredibly well-known in 2011 once “Captain America: The First Avenger” came out.
After rescuing the world in “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019, he has since appeared as the good-hearted superhero in 10 Marvel movies.
With roles as a vicious assassin aiming to assassinate Reynolds in Nextflix’s “The Gray Man” and the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Pixar’s “Lightyear” movie, both of which were released this year, Evans has established himself as a very bankable star.

That’s definitely something I desire, the actor told People when asked if he’s considering getting married and starting a family.
He claimed that he did not anticipate discussing his personal life in public too much. There are some things you want just for yourself, your family, or your friends.
The Boston native keeps up his commitment to A Starting Point, a platform for civic engagement that he co-founded in 2020.
Evans is certain that People’s honor will be a significant moment as he plots the next phase of his life and career.
It’s something I can look back on and remember as I become older and saggier, Evans remarked. “I’m fortunate to be included in the conversation in any way.”
