Jennifer Lawrence clarifies remark on female action films: ‘It was my blunder’

In a recent interview with Viola Davis, Jennifer Lawrence claimed that she was one of the first performers to be cast in an action film.
Jennifer Lawrence explained a recent statement she made regarding the lack of female-led action movies and how she was one of the first actors to break that stereotype. The actress, who is promoting new film Causeway, retaliated by claiming that the media misconstrued her comment and that she never intended it to be said that way. Viola Davis and Jennifer Lawrence participated in an Actors on Actors interview for Variety in which Viola Davis remarked, “I remember when I was shooting Hunger Games, nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn’t work, we were told.

According to Jennifer’s clarification to The Hollywood Reporter,
